Has anyone tried these online survey's that you get paid to do or is it all a con?

I think it's a con and was registered with 8 of these places. I didn't have to pay to register, but that was the only benefit. I never made any money and all I got was "bucks" which are only points to use towards buying merchandise. There were times too that were very frustrating......you can spend 10-15 minutes doing a survey and then be told at the end you don't qualify to continue.

yes. i am actually a member of a few of them. they don't pay enough to have it be a job, but i only do the ones that offer direct incentives, not sweepstakes or chances to win something. don't do any that require you to answer a ton of yes/no questions, then complete like a credit card application or something similar - i've heard they are legit, but such a pain. But a few reputable survey groups are out there. Some pay between $1 to $10 per survey, if you qualify for each survey. All of these groups have screener questions for each survey to see if you qualify to do each survey. Most pay cash. Some will pay into paypal directly, some by check sent USPS and some let you accumulate points or $ to be redeemed for gift cards, cash or merchandise. Whatever you do, do not pay for a service that will sell you the names of legitimate survey groups. Most of them will let you register for free.
Reply:Online surveys are not a con or a scam - you simply have to do a bit of digging before registering with an online survey company.





First thing's first - if an online survey website asks you for money, hit the back button! A legitimate online survey company will NEVER ask you for cash - they want to pay YOU for YOUR opinions, not ask you for any payment.





Second, set up a new e-mail account. This will make it easy for you to see if you have been invited to take an online survey, and will also protect your regular e-mail account incase you accidently register with a scam site. Don't worry too much if you get it wrong - you may get a bit of spam, but generally that's the worst that will happen.





Third, register with legitimate online survey companies. How? Look for a privacy policy, memberships to organizations such as the BBB or marketing associations, look for a terms of usage agreement, and full contact details. A legitimate market research company won't have anything to hide - they will be as honest with you as hopefully you with them when you answer their questions.





Fourth, have fun! Taking online surveys is a great way to make a few extra bucks just for answering easy questions!

There are legitimate survey sites out there, however you will usually only be able to make around 10-30 dollars a month per site.
